Partnership between the Oceanographic Institute and Compagnie Monégasque de Banque renewed

Renewal was the obvious choice

Since 2010, CMB has provided sponsorship to support the Oceanographic Institute’s mission of getting people to “know, love and protect the oceans”. The partnership agreement has now been renewed for 2019 between the two institutions, represented by Messrs Etienne Franzi and Werner Peyer, Chairman and Deputy Administrator of CMB respectively, and Robert Calcagno, Managing Director of the Oceanographic Institute.

CMB’s presence alongside the Oceanographic Institute marks our firm’s commitment, which dates back numerous years, to tackling environmental and climate issues. The partners we choose are always in line with those chosen by the Principality. Thanks to the latter, we can work together with the Institute to preserve the planet and the oceans.

Compagnie Monégasque de Banque is a faithful and committed partner and contributes to organising mediation campaigns with the target audience of the Institute in order to raise awareness and persuade as many people as possible to get involved in protecting the ocean and its biodiversity. Thanks to this financial support, the Institute can spread its message around even more widely.

Beginning in spring, the partnership will take the form of the involvement of Compagnie Monégasque de Banque in the implementation and running of a programme of educational workshops aimed devoted to sea turtles. In spite of their popularity and status as protected species, sea turtles are threatened at every stage of their development. By providing its support, CMB is thus looking to contribute towards saving these emblematic animals by making young people more aware of their vulnerability.

The Oceanographic Institute is delighted with this long-term collaboration, which bears witness to the
hared philosophy uniting these two institutions: the philosophy of a more sustainable future.
